Keeping a Legend Alive in the
Windows 11 Era
We are a community-driven project dedicated to fixing runtime errors and maintaining the legacy of the world’s best lossless volume normalizer.
The Compatibility Gap
MP3Gain is arguably one of the most useful audio tools ever created. However, the original stable version (v1.2.5) was released back in 2005.
As Windows evolved from XP to 10 and 11, the underlying Visual Basic runtime libraries that MP3Gain depends on (specifically MSCOMCTL.OCX) were removed from the operating system. This left thousands of users stranded with the infamous “Runtime Error 75” or application crashes.
We built MP3Gain.org to bridge this gap. We repackage the original code with modern installation scripts that automatically register the missing system files.
