How to Install Without Errors
Run the Installer
Locate the downloaded file mp3gain-win-1.2.5-full-repack.exe in your Downloads folder and double-click to launch it.
Allow Permissions
You may see a User Account Control (UAC) prompt. Click “Yes”. This is required to register the MSCOMCTL.OCX system files automatically.
Select Components
Leave the “Language Files” checked if you need translations. Click Install. The process takes less than 5 seconds.
💡 Post-Install Tip: If you still encounter an error on the first launch, right-click the MP3Gain desktop icon and select “Run as Administrator” once.
Help! I Can’t Download the File
⚠️ “File is not commonly downloaded” Error?
Browsers like Chrome or Edge often flag new installers. This is a false positive because our version is new.
- Chrome: Click the arrow next to the warning > select “Keep”.
- Edge: Click “…” > Keep > Show more > Keep anyway.
🛡️ Windows Protected Your PC?
When you run the installer, Windows SmartScreen might pop up saying “Unrecognized App”.
The Fix: Click the text link “More Info” and then click the button “Run Anyway”. This happens because the open-source certificate is self-signed.
Download stuck at 0%?
This might be due to a firewall or antivirus blocking the connection. Try temporarily pausing your antivirus or try the Portable (.zip) version instead, as zip files are less likely to be blocked.
Where is the file saved?
By default, Windows saves files to your C:\Users\YourName\Downloads folder. Press Ctrl + J in your browser to see your recent downloads.
